Vintage Joinery Co. was founded by Luqmaan Shabudien in 2017 with a simple vision: to design and build timeless solid timber doors and bespoke furniture that combine exceptional craftsmanship with lasting functionality.

What started as a love for handcrafting raw wood into functional art has grown into a dedication to fine joinery. Inspired by Danish Mid-Century lines, Japanese precision, and the natural character of timber, each piece is designed to outlast trends, not follow them.

We specialize in custom solid timber doors (entrance, pivot, and interior), plus bespoke furniture and architectural joinery. Every project is made to order in our Cape Town workshop, with full control over timber, finish, and size.

We hand-finish every piece with natural oils and waxes, not to mask the wood, but to honour it. The grain, texture, and individuality stay front and centre.

We don’t rush. We craft.

Today, we’re growing our range, but our mission hasn’t changed: to create heirloom-quality work that will be admired, used, and passed down for generations.
